On Friday, November 10, 2017, the Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine (GSDM) hosted a new Continuing Education course in collaboration with Sirona Dental, Inc. The course, titled, “Restoring Implants Chair-Side Using Your CEREC –Yes You Can!” was instructed by Dr. David Dano, Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of General Dentistry and Group Practice Leader, Predoctoral Patient Treatment Center; Dr. Matthew Zweig, Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of General Dentistry and Director of the Group Practice Experience and Team Leadership; and Dr. Ben Miller, a CEREC Trainer certified by the International Society for Computerized Dentistry. He maintains a private practice in Tel Aviv where he offers his patients the benefits of digital dentistry.
This CE course aimed to provide attendees the knowledge and training to confidently design, mill and deliver custom implant-supported restorations. Over the course of the one-day program, participants reviewed the options for chair-side fabrication of custom implant abutments and screw-retained implant crowns utilizing the CEREC system. The course covered workflow and material options for restoring implants in their private practices. The day concluded with a full hands-on practical workshop during which each of the participants applied the knowledge they had gained as they restored one implant, step by step from start to finish.
