On July 17, more than 100 members of the Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine (GSDM) community attended the 2015 Prosthodontics Graduation Dinner, which took place at the Trustee Ballroom of The Metcalf Trustee Center on the Boston University Charles River Campus.
The ceremony, which went from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., started off with Professor and Chair of the Department of Restorative Sciences & Biomaterials Dr. Dan Nathanson welcoming all the guests, residents, faculty, and staff that were in attendance at the dinner, showing their support to the nine graduating residents in the 2015 class and also to the nine entering residents in the 2018 class.
Dean Jeffrey W. Hutter then extended his well wishes to the graduating residents and their families, while congratulating the new residents for entering one of if not the best prosthodontics program in the country.
The nine members of the graduating class of 2015 were presented by Dr. Nathanson.
The nine new residents in the class of 2018 were presented jointly by Dr. Nathanson and Dr. Arthur Sun, Clinical Professor and Director ad interim of the Advanced Specialty Education Program in Prosthodontics.
The dinner included a recognition portion, with awards given out to the following resident and faculty:
- Terawat Tosiriwatanapong, graduating resident, received the David J. Baraban Award, which is given annually to an outstanding resident in prosthodontics for exemplifying excellence in character and clinical proficiency.
- Mohammad Hossein Dashti, Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Restorative Sciences & Biomaterials, received the Post-doctoral Prosthodontics Residents’ Award for Teaching Excellence.
- Hideo Yamamoto, Clinical Professor in the Department of Restorative Sciences & Biomaterials, received the Post-doctoral Prosthodontics Residents’ Appreciation Award.
- Steven Morgano, former Program Director until December. 2014, now the Chair in Restorative Dentistry at Rutgers University, received a commemorative plaque from the class of graduating residents.
